11 years ago, I read a magazine article about chi or life energy. The article explained that if I stimulated the palms of my hands, and practiced, I would begin to feel life energy around my body and between my hands.  I did not give it much thought at the time. A year later my life was in turmoil, I had been suffering with a newly diagnosed case of Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Major Depression, Anxiety, Panic attacks, PSTD. My Marriage was over, and I was in pain, constantly.  I was taking several different medications also. I could barely sleep at night because the pain in my knees would wake me up. Then I hurt my shoulder pretty badly and it was back to the doctor for more medication and therapy. I have to say, that these things helped. At the  time I probably would not have made it without my medications.

During this time, I had relocated back to my home town of Traverse city, Michigan and reunited with my family. I began to study the craft with my sister Amanda Leonard. She is not a wiccan, but rather an eclectic witch. I had never been a religious person, but had always had interest in religions. I still am not religious, rather I am a spiritual person. I found some of the things she was teaching me about thoughts, manifestation, and healing very interesting.  While listening to a tape to quit smoking, I was directed to visualize white light coming into the top of my head and filling my body.  This technique became my basis for bringing in healing energy. Eventually I remembered the article, and began to project the energy out through my hands and into my knees.
